The Project

Airbus Hamburg-Finkenwerder - hall 51/3
Tests facility for the Development of wide-body aircraft A 350
(CAV/Fishbone, SCS-test rig, V&V-platform)

The Airbus A350 XWB (for eXtra Wide Body) follows the super WB A380 as the latest model produced by aircraft manufacturer Airbus. Three different models will be delivered in 2013 each with a capacity of up to 375 passengers.

The A350 XWB is the answer to the Boeing’s 787 (Dreamliner) and should offer maximum efficiency in air travel. Owing to use of new materials and optimisation of all technical onboard systems, operating costs should lie 10 percent below those of the Boeing 787.

Factory Building 5 1/3 on the Bremen site meets the development standards for the A350 especially for research and optimisation of cabin air distribution and cooling components. Here realistic operating conditions can be examined and optimised through the use of original aircraft components, particularly an A350 frame along with special air conditioned and sound proofed cells.

Task

Media supply test rigs
Air conditioning-, cooling-, and heating techniqus and measurement and control technology

Lodewick GmbH equipped each single test platform with all required media as well as the relevant measurement and control technology. A big challenge in creating a realistic simulation is the creation of reliable environmental influences such as high and low temperatures and moisture.
