The Project

Trauma Centre Murnau, extension west

The interregional Trauma Centre Murnau treats patients with life threatening and multiple trauma. All wards like the emergency room, intensive and operative care units and all post operative care units are run cooperatively by all chief medical officers. With over 40,000 patients and 12,000 operations per year, the Trauma Centre Murnau is one of the largest and most important Special Care Centres in Germany.

Task

The hygienically faultless installation and implementation, as well as the permanent operation of complex drinking water systems in hospitals are a challenge for planners, executing speciality firms and operators.

Lodewick GmbH and Gangl Engineering in Munich worked together at the extension west of the Trauma Centre Murnau, whereby they complied with the legal requirements of the drinking water ordinance. Furthermore, new standards where set especially regarding the hot water installations and drinking water supply systems in the fight against legionella bacteria. This reference is confirmed by project reports about these installations in many German technical journals.
